Local Students Interviewed for Boys State Civic Program

On Tuesday, April 7, American Legion Post 57 conducted interviews for candidates attending American Legion Boys State New Jersey, which will take place this June.

American Legion Boys State is a hands-on civic leadership program where high school students learn about government by running a mock state, participating in elections, and engaging in public service.

Seven junior students from Waldwick, Northern Highlands, River Dell, and Don Bosco high schools took part in the interview process. The interviews were conducted by Post 57 members who will sponsor the selected students: John Grisoni, Kevin O’Hara, Chris Latham, and Stan Kowalski.

We wish all the candidates the very best.

  1. Boys and Girls State is a wonderful program for young people who are interested in how our government works. It is also an opportunity to explore their leadership skills.
