On Sunday 30 March Post 57 members Stanley Kowalski and John Grisoni were privileged to be invited to the Eagle Scout Court of Honor at West Point for Cadet Charles J Perruzzi III, a 2023 Northern Highlands graduate and current member of the West Point Class of 2027.
Charles was a Boys State delegate sponsored by Post 57 during his high school junior year.
Cadet Perruzzi completed his Eagle Scout requirements during his high school senior year but was not able to be honored because he was soon to report to West Point in June 2023. His plebe (freshman) year allowed no time for the ceremony; however, time was available for a ceremony on 30 March. Over 200 people were in attendance at the Grand Ballroom of the West Point Club at the Academy. Those in attendance included Academy dignitaries, Allendale community leaders, scouts, cadets, family, friends, etc.
Post 57 presented Charles with an American Legion challenge coin, a certificate of Eagle Scout achievement, and a gift check.
